Ektara

Formed in Melbourne, Ektara is a Bangladeshi cultural group. Named from a traditional Bengali folk instrument, the group’s aim is to uphold Bengali language and culture in this great multicultural diversity of Australia.

Ektara is determined to present the Bengali language and cultural identity to the Bangladeshi generation being raised here, as well as improving the quality of social and cultural lives of Bangladeshis in Australia through practicing and performing appropriate Bangladeshi culture in a way that appreciates the local culture and education system.
